    generally speaking the kids these days don't have the same values we grew up with. We were not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but such a large percentage of kids today have missed so much. I blame the parents.

    I recently had the opportunity to listen to a speaker who spoke about generational differences in the workplace. His comments paralelled topics much the same as those in your posts. Though times have changed, and kids have so many opportunites today they often are not exposed to some of the core experiences that they need to have if they are to succeed. They need to know how to cook, how to clean, how to add and subtract - they need to know how to behave respectfully. So many of them have no role models - others are being raised by grandparents (and in some cases great grandparents) - a bigger problem than I can solve, but still it troubles me. :(
