I am trying to cook several pizza's at once on my large egg. I was going to get a grill extender, however my retailer told me there is a post in the middle of it so its not possible to put multiple pizzas on. Does anyone know of any product to make cooking multiple pizzas possible? Thanks,

DT

I'm sorry I don't know how to paste a link to a post, but if you search "two pizzas stacked" you will see the first post that comes up is one I did..there are others too...I have done it a few times but it is not a perfect solution because you can't turn the bottom one if it develops hot spots. If you don't HAVE to have two pizzas at once, cooking one right after the other works fine. Good luck and post what you come up with!
  • Sorry, unless I make my pizzas really small I can't fit two on my XL. Just not enough room, and would be difficult trying to do it stacked.

I usually make two pizzas every time I cook though, I just have to do one then the other, seems like I have just enough time to eat one slice off the first before the second pie is ready to come off. By the time I get the second one sliced and to the table the hyenas have already devoured the first pie.

I have to make at least 4 pizzas when I cook, because of all my kids. I just cook one 15 inch pizza at a time. When I put the first one on to cook, the kids are helping top the second. When I pull the first one off, I give the stone a few minutes to get back up to heat, and then throw on the second pizza. I keep this sequence up until everyone is full. Even with 7 of us, it is hard to devour one pizza before another pizza is ready or just about ready to come off the egg. As some of us like different toppings, I just half or third the pizza toppings so that everyone has something they like each time a pizza comes of the egg.
  • ceramicgrillstore.com sells tiered rigs that don't have that center post. Many people on the forum love them, but I don't know how well they work at cooking multiple pizzas.

at 1200 degrees they come off the grill in 53 seconds, never tried 2 or 3 pies at the same time though ;) at 900 they come off in just a few minutes, havent done a 600 cook in along time, i thing those were under 10 min a pie. you cant make pies fast enough for a 1200 degree cook

warm your oven to its lowest setting...as you take pies off (take them off slightly before you normally would) put them in the oven to stay warm, while the others cook...
