What do you use to collect drippings.

I am just curious what some of you use to collect drippings(that you want to reuse) on an indirect cook?
I want to do a butt this coming weekend, and despite using my egg 7+ times a week for grilling, i don't have a ton of "bbq" type cooks under my belt.
The hand full of "smoking" i have done, i just lined an aluminum pizza pan with foil, but the drippings were pretty burned up/useless.
I did a prime rib yesterday in a pan with rack, and the drippings came out fine, without getting burned. I am just not sure if i want the rack under the butt as am unsure if it will effect the "bark".
Thanks for any advice, and hope you all are enjoying the holidays.

I foil line my drip pan and raise it off the plate setter or what ever you are using with an extra set of BGE feet (if not feet balls of foil...). I must add sometimes my drippings still burn up. Tim

Try using a disposable aluminum pan,but raise it up off of your platsetter with a few aluminum foil balls. Then place the grid on top of that. The foil balls should help keep the drippings from burning

Ive always used a cast iron skillet with aluminum foil balls. I'll admit, sometimes I forget to foil to inside of the pan.Large & MiniMax in Lexington, KY

I have an XL and purchased (from Amazon) an 18"X1" round aluminum cake pan. I line it with foil before each cook that requires a drip pan. I put foil balls under the pan to raise it off the platesetter. Like someone mentioned before, my drippings still burn sometimes.

Try placing a liquid like water, wine or beer into the collection pot and keep an eye on it. Add more liquid if necessary!

Thanks Richard I'll give that a try. I remember some months ago doing a couple of boston butts and using cider vinegar in the drip pan. Thinking back I think that worked very well.

Thanks for the input everyone. Ill try the tin foil ball thing, and also add a little liquid to the pan.
