<p />Here's a picture of the 2 butts I did last night with the Birthday Girl! One butt came off in 23 hours and the larger one came off in a little over 24 hours. Deb thinks her investment in my first BGE is paying off well. The 16.9 lbs of pork was almost totally consumed by 21 people. There is just enough left over for some ABTs for a little New Year's celebration. Now, I'm looking for ABT recipes. This will be my first attempt at ABTs.[p]Jimbo

    JimboBQ,
What did your finished weight come out to be? I usually lose about half of what I put on. Good looking plate-o-pork though, I have to admit.

  • JimboBQ, your "girl" and my girl share a fascination for things behind glass it seems...now if I just shared the good fortune of a big ole plate of pulled pork, we'd both have it made...

    sigmore,
Just thinkin here, but it doesn't look too much like they were worried about weighing it! [p]"Hold on a sec honey while I grab my scale".[p]Nice picture, Jimbo. Looks like a major success.
    Cheers

    Nature Boy,
I guess I'm just too far gone for any kind of help with cooking for poots and giggles. It's all about the grail of perfection. Let me cry alone for awhile, I'll get over it. NOT!! Pulled Pork Rules, blame it on PP and JB.

    sigmore,
Not really sure. But, like you, I guess I lost about half of it. It was a big hit with our little birthday gathering.[p]Jimbo

  • JimboBQ,
great pic going there! The way I do ABT's - mix the pork(about two fists full) with 8 oz cream cheese, a two cup bag of Mex 4 cheese blend, a can of the drained Rotelle (I prefer spicy) and the seasoning of your choice. Mix well, fill the peppers, wrap with bacon and cook direct with a lot of hickory smoke (or you fav) for about 30/45 mins. [p]I also have done a variation where I substituted leftover brisket (seasoned with fajita seasoning) for the pork and stuffed a poblano pepper instead of jalapeno. Fired it up the same way, added some beans & rice and that's a mighty fine Mexican chile rellano dish for dinner. Use your creativity - it's fun. Happy New Year! Joe
