Crown Roast of Pork --Size Issue
BrisketBob
Posts: 145
We are having twenty guests for Christmas dinner (total of 22 people). I bought two crown roasts, each with 14 ribs. I haven't seen them but have to pick them up Christmas Eve. I believe there is over twenty pounds of pork. The question is am I going to be able to cook both of these at the same time on my regular sized BGE. There also has to be a drip pan under each of the pork crown roasts. Any help is appreciated.

I don't think they'll both fit at the same time -- and does each guest really need (roughly) a pound of pork?

Bob,
What is a regularly sized BGE? You might be OK with the new style XL.

I would have the butcher make one large Crown and it will fit a large BGE. Pull @ 140-142F, rest 20 minutes minimum.

This is the last one I cooked and it feed 18 people...I don't think you can get 2 at one time on a large egg.

Don't think two 14 rib roast will fit on an XL much less a large egg and 2-14 rib crown roasts will be quite large if you form it into one crown roast
Here is two 9 rib roast that my butcher had more or less formed into a "line roast" stuffed with sausage instead of a crown. I took it apart butterflied the chops and made it into an 18 rib crown.
Stuffed with italian sausage
On an XL with some ABTs and stuffed fritos
