Ha, not the post you are expecting, although I hear there are a few getting shipped. I'm surprised nobody has gotten their hands on one around here yet.
I've been cooking on mine almost every day lately and I really like it. I've been primarily cooking with the platesetter and I am most impressed by the consistant temp around the cooker. I truly expected hot spots and I'm just not experiencing it. Most of my cooks have been in the 300-350 range and a couple higher, but I did a few slow cooks when I was still traveling and found the same thing. [p]I think Jim Nufer has done it again. The largest ceramic in Atlanta is a winner, and it's round.

  • drbbq,
Great info. My dealer said he expects to have one in March (he was told that their chain are getting a few less than they have stores, so they will randomly assign one XL to each store, price 999.00). I told my wife I didn't want one, but she had this sort of "uh-huh" look on her face. I guess I didn't assuage her fears, LOL! So I then told her maybe I could sell one of the twins (small) to get the XL. Another "uh-huh" look.

I don't think I will ever own an XL because I don't do a lot of large cooking. So the large is just fine with me. I was wondering how much more lump does it take to fill the box verses the Large. [p]Jerry

Jwirlwind,[p]I haven't really measured it. I'm sure it can fit quite a bit more. Probably 1-1/2 times to fill it. I don't think it will burn 50% more though.[p]I'm sure it's not for everyone, but it is nice.

hey drbbq,[p]What did the final dimensions come out to be? Are the ratios pretty close to the large or is it still as "short" the orginal prototypes were? [p]How big is the placesetter in this thing? [p]Steve-B

Steve-B,[p]I haven't measured it and I probably never will.
the grate is 24". It's squatier than the large, which is squatier than the small. I guess they don't need to be proportionately the same, as long as it cooks the same, and it does.

    drbbq,
Is it nicer than having 2 Larges?[p]So basically the question is, if you currently have a large, would it be nicer to have a large and an XL or 3 larges.[p]I know the true answer is an XL and 3 Larges, but I'm looking for guidance, not fantasies...lol.

Bobby-Q,[p]I can't speak for anybody's situation. It cooks good and it's big, that's what I know.
