I had some milanesa style beef that I needed to use last night, which is a thin sliced sirloin.

I took a slice and cut it into about 1 inch widths. I topped each slice with a cooked Crispy Crown (kind of like a tater tot from Ore Ida). I tried a few different variations: plain, cheese, sweet pickled jalapeno, and steak sauce.

I rolled them up and impaled each with a toothpick. Seasoned them with Dizzy Pig Cowlick.

For the first batch, I tried cooking them on the griddle insert of my cast iron grate (Last weekend to enter the Cast Iron Grate Giveaway on my blog!)

450f for 1-2 minutes per side. This did the top and bottom excellent but the sides weren't done all the way so I had to roll them.

Next I tried them direct.

Again, 450f for 1-2 minutes per side. This worked much better.

The final decision was that a mix of the sweet pickled jalapeno and cheddar cheese was the preferred combination.

These Beefy Bites are fun because you can mix up the flavors any way you like.
