The top is frozen shut on my BGE. How do I get it open, build a fire in the bottom?[p]Merry Christmas an Happy Holidays from MS

Shay,
You got it...light a starter cube and slide through the lower vent underneath the lump and it will thaw rather quickly....As I said in an earlier post..it is wise to ensure you have lump left in the egg when you are done just in case you need to do this exact thing..also leave the top wide open..HTH[p]Wess

Thanks. I like your web page. Merry Christmas

Shay,
If you dont have any lump in the firebox, perhaps you could light a couple pieces of lump in a chimney starter and pour it into the top? Never tried it, but dont know why it wouldn't work.

CentralPork,
I believe a year or 2 ago someone posted lowering a light bulb down through the top..kinda like a ddrop light without the gaurd on it. I imagine this would work but might take some time....Yours is a good idea also.[p]Wess
