Platesetter/ grid fit

I recently bought a new medium egg with platesetter, and also bought a replacement platesetter for my large which I had broken. As I remember it, on my large, with the old platesetter, I had a nice fit of the grid completely encompassing the three legs when I was using it inverted. On both these new platesetters, the grids will not fit around the three legs which makes the grid run across one of them. If I don't scoot the setter over to the side, the grill can move enough to fall. It also makes the surface slightly unlevel. It's more an annoyance than anything. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so, is there any resolution. Has BGE changed dimensions on these things????

MerlinEgger,
I have had my large platesetter for a couple of years now, and mine fits as you described your new one does....the outer ring of the cooking grid fits around 2 of the three leggs and sits on top of the third. It does create a slight unlevelness (sp LOL) but I have never noticed or feared it being able to fall...so as far as I know nothing has changed...could just be the difference from one mold to the next at the factory...[p]Wess

I just got my first egg yesterday for my birthday. When I got it home and assembled I noticed the same thing. The platesetter and grid did not line up. After playing with it for a while I got it situated over the three legs. Tomorrow's Christmas dinner will be the first thing I'll cook in my new egg. Roast Beast I think.

WessB,
I'm surprised that this detail would be overlooked. It is a small detail, but would surely be an improvement if the grid fit over all the legs. Not rocket science here........Merry Christmas to all!

MerlinEgger,
My plate setter for my large seems to be a little small
the cooking grid fits fine, but I have to be careful how I center the placesetter on the fire ring because there is enough slop in the fit that it can, and will fall
and that causes me to say bad words.
good eggin
