I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

steamed them   was thinking about this, go roast some with some fresh beets and fresh fennel roots, thinking it would be a good mix of flavors, especially if you never roasted fennel and beets. fennel is a big surprise if you never roasted them :)

Hey, Darlin'. Hope you're doing well! Stay away from the sprouts though. :)

buy a few of each, brussels, beets, fennel roots. oil them and put the brussels in a couple minutes later. peel the beets and chop the ends off, nothing special, oil salt pepper, spice, roast in a pan. just do it, no need for a dinner, just a snack for something different. fresh beets are not like canned, and the liquorish flavor of fennel root just adds to it.

  • Oh how I hope you cooked them in the house as it certainly would be a waste of good lump to cook them in the Egg.

  • fish, I can't help but call Carolina Q, Connecticut Yankee because he lived in Connecticut. Sometimes, I've even called him a d@*m yankee. I suppose being a yankee does not necessarily mean north of the Mason Dixon line????

Even E B white seems confused:

To foreigners, a Yankee is an American.
To Americans, a Yankee is a Northerner.
To Northerners, a Yankee is an Easterner.
To Easterners, a Yankee is a New Englander.
To New Englanders, a Yankee is a Vermonter.
And in Vermont, a Yankee is somebody who eats pie for breakfast.
  • Cook 6 slices of bacon (cooked done but soft, if that makes sense), set cooked bacon aside and remove most of the grease. Add butter to the pan to saute the sprouts. When just about done, add the bacon (crumbled) and plate.

was watching the weather channel a few weeks back and saw the north/east was pennsylvania, out to cincinnati, up to minnesota,    south west of boston is the south west ;) i find it hard to believe the birthday boy stike is a yankee since he moved down to wakefield. i moved a mile south into massachusetts and my accents all screwed up :ermm: its all confusing :pinch:
