Those must have been $4.00 shoes to last that long.

Had me some $4.00 shoes when I was going to LSU. Wore a hole in 'em and took 'em to a cobbler. He said he don't replace no cardboard soles. (Or maybe he said "cardboard souls!!" No matter, it broke my heart to throw out those shoes a couple of semesters later.

But I found some new ones that were almost my size. Wore them for a REALLY long time. Then they started to smell really bad.

They just don't make good $4.00 shoes anymore.
