Beef Fondue Sauce?

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
Anyone have a good Fondue sauce Recipe. My wife's family has a tradition of doing fondue on xmas eve. Everyone has to come up with their own sauce. Usually I just grad stuff in the fridge and mix it all together. It usually turns out pretty good. But since I have come across this wonderful forum I figured I would ask the food gods to guide me through the process so I could impress my in-laws with my culinary expertise ;)

    gdube16,
Take yourself 2 or 3 pkg of onion soup (depending on how much you need to take) and make it with wine (Chardonay actually works best) instead of water. This is for a broth that you would cook the meat in, not something you would dip cooked meat into, but since you are doing fondue this would be what you need for cooking the beef.[p]HTH

  • Chet,
Thanks great link. Will spend time sorting thru

  • gdube16,
A sauce I always make with fondue, and it goes well with all meat, is a garlic - parmesan -dip:
2 - 3 cloves of garlic, crushed or minced
    200 gram mayonaise
    1 tbsp parmesan cheese
combine ingredients, mix well and put in fridge for at least an hour[p]also good with beef is the horseradish-cranberry - dip:
220 gram cranberry ( sauce, jelly or something like that)
    2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp horseradish ( grated fresh is best, but bought as sauce will also work)
combine, mix well and let it rest in fridge for an hour or so[p]TAB
