Turkey: 250 vs 325?

For a whole turkey (10#), is there any benefit to cooking at 250 vs. 325?
I've seen cook-time estimates of 12 min/lb for 325 to as long as 30 mins/lb for 250....so I need to start earlier if lower/slower has benefits!
Perhaps the level of smoke drives the choice?

Low and slow ifs for fatty meats (my opinion). Turkey is lean...I cook mine at 375 dome temps and it cooks around 10 minutes per pound. At 350 dome it cooks around 12 minutes per pound.
