Which Dizzy Pig Rub for Turkey
HoosierDan
Posts: 76
Sorry to start another Turkey-related post, but looking for a little advice. I am going to our local Dizzy Pig dealer today with the intent of picking up a rub for our turkey. I've never had any of their rubs before. After reading on their website I have it narrowed down to:
1. Dizzy Dust
2. Pineapple Head
3. Tsunami Spin
Any strong opinions? BTW - I'm choosing not to do the Mad Max Method this year. I purchased a vertical roaster so I am obligated to use that at least once.

For me it would be shakin the tree

Actually I messed up. Pineapple Head wasn't on my shortlist. It should have been Raging River.
FlaPoolMan, why shaking the tree? -
It's a lemon pepper and I like it on all poultry, also I'll add a light dust of swamp venom the 2 go together well and SV give the skin a little bite

Put Pineapple Head back on the short list. We use it all the time...Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

I also prefer Shaking the Tree on any poultry. I've tried all the ones you listed, and it is my go-to rub for poultry. Good luck.

bells seasoning  i wouldnt put any of the dp rubs on my thanks giving turkey. fresh herbs and a light dusting of bell's.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

OK, Shakin The Tree it is. I was leaning heavily toward Raging River because I see salmon on the horizon, but the dealer was out of that one anyway. Thanks for the info.
