Is there something that makes the BGE V-rack worth $30-40? Just wondering if I should spring for that or if the $10 generic v-rack I can get at a couple stores locally will do just fine.

I bought a generic one from lowes for about $10. It has worked pretty good for me and that is the same V-rack that I am putting my turkey in. It works great!

Im not sure what a V-rack actually accomplishes in a BGE. Maybe as a rib rack when inverted, if more than 3 slabs cooking at once is needed. Otherwise....

I guess the same reason BGE lump is $20 and Royal Oak is only $8. Pay for the name.

Thanks for the responses. I am looking for one to cook my turkey on Thursday and to use for ribs after that. I will just pick up the $10 one and call it a day.

No reason bird cant go directly on the grid.
