We took a friend shopping yesterday to buy her husband's Christmas present (have big truck), and I'm scratching my head to see if we left anything off. We got a large BGE, an egg nest, plate setter, pizza stone, cast iron cooking grid, grid extender, regulated MAPP torch on a hose, MAPP gas, Paul Kirk's Championship Barbecue, and we're looking for beer can chicken holders. She's going to hold off on buying a BBQ Guru for now and let him decide if he really wants one (more like decide between standard and remote). So, did we leave off any essentials? Polder comes to mind... dag nabbit!

BBQBluesStringer, you need to get him sumpthin to practice on and season the grill with!! A whole chicken, some wings, burger, steaks, chops, sausages, jalapeno's, bacon, and on and on....;)[p]I got a couple of whole Prime Ribeyes yesterday. I'm going to cut into 1½ and 2" steaks, vac pack in FoodSaver, freeze, and give a few away as Christmas presents to some deserving friends.

BBQBluesStringer,
i don't see a bag of lump on this list?? . . great way to present it to him would be to get a big stocking, fill it full of lump charcoal, and have the wife give it to him saying "you were a bad boy this year, all you get is a stocking full of lump!" then lead him to the rest of the gift. .. .

BBQBluesStringer,
A grid lifter from Lawn Ranger is essential on my list. Any of his other items are handy too.

BBQBluesStringer,[p]Don't forget bags of various smoking woods. Hickory, Pecan, Apple, Cherry, Mesquite and the infamous Jack Daniels Barrel Chips.[p]Cheers,[p]Ed
