  • Re: Stuffed Pork Tenderloin FAIL

I have never stuffed a loin, but every time I cook a whole loin they are bland. I started having mine cut into 1 inch slices and cooking them that way.

I put salt, pepper and rub on both sides of each slice. It is a lot more work than cooking an entire loin,  but I get better results.

@TCT yours looks good. I am sorry it didn't turn out.
  • Re: Republican or Democrat?

I am so tired I have been working 27/6!!!!!!! Wait that doesn't sound right. It is sad and funny all at the same time.

I left one bbq site because of political crap and this will be my second, good bye
Are you serious? You would leave an entire forum dedicated to a hobby that you love all because YOU clicked on a thread that YOU knew would be political and didn't like what you read.

This is a BBQ forum but the two most off limits topics, politics and religion, do come up from time to time because we are humans and that is part of life. I certainly don't agree with every comment I saw here, but I am not leaving because of it.

My suggestion for you is to stay and just avoid threads that you know will piss you off.

I think you will like it!

  • Re: Do ya really "need" a Thermapen?

I also bought the bge one first. It worked, but it took 10 seconds to give an accurate read. I love my thermapen, and my cooks have improved greatly.
  • First cook with Rockwood

I cooked for the first time using Rockwood. Chicken on Saturday and ribeyes on Sunday.

I am impressed. I have never used anything but BGE lump. I noticed the absence of the white smoke that I was used to when letting the BGE lump get to temp. I also noticed that I never smelled the chemical smell that I did when I used BGE lump.

It got to temp fast and, it seemed to burn more evenly than BGE brand. I did use more than I do when I cook with BGE lump, but I attribute that to the fact that it burned more evenly.

Overall I am very satisfied. I plan to order at least one pallet soon.
