  • Re: Any recommendations for cast iron grid?

I'd like to replace my steel grid on my LBGE with a cast iron one.  I've found the Big Green brand on Amazon for about $50.  I'm sure that would be fine but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any other styles/types.
Forgot to answer the original question. I have the music city metals one that's on Amazon for $59.  It's a nice piece.  Might be the same as the $49 unit, but the picture of the $49 unit is way to small to judge it.

The Craycort is a pretty cool piece if you pick up the extra inserts.

I have an 18" that I use on my XL with the Woo.
  • Re: Newbie slow cook rib question!

You don't need to increase the temp.  The egg may need a slightly bigger opening to recover and maintain the temp since there is more food, but the temp is fine.  But if you are doing 6 - 7 hours, then I would probably not even worry about that.

Ribs on the upper tier rack may cook faster since it is higher in the dome.

7 hours at 250 is longer than I do, but if you hit 225* that may be just fine.
  • Re: OT what's your "other" hobby

Aside from kid duty, driving / modding my vette and watching sports is what I do to unwind.  I use to be into drag racing, but staying away from the track has been good for the budget.  ;)
