  • Re: Anova Sous Vide for $140 tomorrow

Well the big advantage of the Anova is it can be clipped on many different sized containers.  And all these containers can be items that serve other useful purposes.  I use coolers much larger than the Sous Vide Supreme.  But when I don't need the space, I'll use smaller coolers or my spaghetti pot.

I just don't want another countertop appliance.  I put the Anova away in a drawer.  But in the end both units cook the same.  Its just circulating hot water at a precise temp.  My Anova is accurate to within 3/10 of a degree as compared to my thermapen.

Those counter tops came out awesome.
I agree.  68 hours of polishing.... ouch... that's brutal.

I see nothing to worry about.

I fixed mine once with my phone and a credit card.  You can't even tell where it broke.
  • Re: Does anyone else's egg have holes in it like this.

That is exactly what I used.  What is that crack in?  Fire ring?

A gasket covers it so I guess you should not worry about it until it really becomes a problem.  We all probably have the same thing.  It's funny there is another thread on here tonight (the MiniMax thread) with a guy saying he fires his own pottery and in his opinion the BGE ceramic is the best quality of any of the ceramic grills.
