  • Rockwood Delivery

Today I received a shipment of Rockwood (100lbs) from Firecraft. I was asked to describe the receipt. The shipment was delivered by Fedex, two packages in total….four 20lb bags in one container and one 20lb bag in another. All outer packaging was intact….both the cartons and the individual 20lb packages. Opened one package for a spatchcock chicken tonight…it appears that charcoal is of decent size, no abnormal amount of dust. Very similar to other Rockwood that I've used before. Bottom line…shipment from PA to TX came in good condition, free shipment and no taxes. I'll use them again.
  • Re: Switching from BGE lump to Rockwood

Switched to Rockwood 5 months ago…excellent results. Used to use OO but it became too pricy.
  • Re: Got one on the front page-! Grilling the perfect steak

Good article…will try your method next steak cook.
  • Re: Vent Settings, a Visual Guide

Thanks for sharing this info again.  I always use you descriptions to initially set my BGE for the temp I'm aiming for...then I fine tune it to my liking.  Thanks again...you've been a big help to me and others, I'm sure.
  • Re: Check those thermometers!

Haven't checked mine in 2 years...based on above comments, thought it best to take a peek. Placed tip in boiling water....hit and held at 100C.  Guess I'm lucky...but I always cook to temp with my trusty Thermapen.
