This subject comes up from time to time. Seems there are a TON of new eggheads here. Post your maiden cooks! The eggs look so nice when new. Serial numbers and gaskets and all.

Mickey,, I think I can safely narrow it down to chicken, beef or pork

Sorry no pictures back then.
First cook on my large started on a Saturday afternoon. About 1pm and ended at 6pm.
Dogs, then brats, then chicken thighs, then chicken drums, kids came over so more dogs for them then some corn. Then my wife's sister and husband came over so I decided to give some T-Rex stakes.
Steaks came out great, but lost the felt gasket. I called my now out of business dealer and he told me if I waited until Monday he would come out and replace the gasket for me or he could get me a gasket and I could replace it myself.
I didn't want to wait until Monday so about an hour later the door bell rang and there was my dealer with some hints and a felt gasket kit in hand.
It took me from 8pm to about 2:30 Sunday morning to get the new gasket on.
Couldn't wait for 24 hours so I got up about 8am and cooked breakfast, then lunch, then dinner. I cooked 2 or 3 meals on the egg for the entire next month.
I guess my first cook took a full month to finish.

No SIr! You are most definitely NOT. I have no idea what I cooked first - on either the large or the mini. Hell, I barely remember what I cooked LAST!
But I'll bet Pat is right.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

The Egg arrived only five months ago, but it has been a non-stop blast
We plan our weekends around cooks and our must-try list is getting huge. We're hooked
This was the day it all started
First meal was pork chops, one smoked one seasoned, veggies and garlic bread.

That's a great story!

Beautiful! I believe you have the only post with nice new eggcessories. So many meals have come since that picture!
-
Great responses! Sure is fun remembering your first time :P
The first cooks on my first egg (large) were terrible because I didn't let the bad smoke burn off. It was "Light it, wait for temp to get where it belongs, add meat." Yuck. My wife, who took lots of convincing that we needed "one of those things" was none too impressed at first
Sorry for the "Post-N-Run" but that's how it is with little ones running around! Here's to a great weekend.
