I did a search on D/O sizes and have decided i may want a 5 and 9 qt size. While searching i saw one plug for the camp style with the feet. Do you all use both styles? Does it matter?
Thanks
Thanks

I use a 9qt on the large and no feet. Sometimes I place it on the grate and the feet might cause an imbalance thing.

Thanks for the info.

I've got an 8 qt. ci do but, I would love a 9 qt. so now you see how that goes there is only two of us.
Like Richard says no feet. -
i use both, with the camp version with the feet, the cover can be used as a griddle. i sit it on the pizza stone in the egg, not on the grate. if i were getting two, one would be enameledfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I have and use both. The DO with legs is great for cooking when camping. Dave

Sounds like i can't hardly go wrong. I guess i'll be making a trip to Bass Pro this week end.

I say get the flat bottom. They are great for stovetop & oven use as well. If you do choose to take it camping, just elevate it on some bricks, rocks, or balls of foil.

I use camp ovens (with legs) but most folks here use their DOs in their eggs, which is is why they prefer kitchen ovens (no legs). I don't want to use up that real estate so I use mine with charcoal. You put a few briquettes on top (which is why the lid has a lip) and underneath (which is why it has legs).
It's not that hard to cook at 350, there is the rule 3s. Take the oven size and subtract 3 and put that underneath, then add 3 and put that on top. For example; for a 10in oven you put 7 underneath and 13 on top.
You can use a camp oven in the egg or with charcoal, but can't use a kitchen oven with briquettes.
