I dropped the cast iron grate on my platesetter today and the platesetter lost. Where can I get some JB WELD? I am hoping to find it locally so I can use it tomorrow.
Please advise and thanks in advance!

Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

I picked up some at Home Depot and have seen it at Lowes. I have also seen it at Ace Hardware.

Hi Al, I know JB Weld is the recommended repair material but it is rated for only 500º continuous heat and 600º intermittently and is non toxic. You are probably cooking at higher temperatures. There is Resbond™ 907GF Adhesive & Sealant that is rated from -300°F to 2300°F. I have never used it but it may be worth calling the company and asking them about it and where to get it.

AUTOZONE,NAPA.

If it is your small PS cracked across the middle or a small segment of your XL, JB Weld will do the job. If it is your XL PS across the middle, you will be able to fix it with JB Weld, but it won't last because of the weight and unsupported length.

i'd use a couple pieces of angle iron or flat stock ,drilled and bolted across the crack..similar to what a surgeon does for a broken leg...

Thanks guys! It was my small platesetter. I will try the JB and if that doesn't work I guess I will just replace it.
