Texans and those who wished they were Texas Eggers (or just do not mind being around Texas Eggers).
For the last few years thoughts have been passed down about another fest/gathering of a type not the Texas Fest or Plano Outlaw Gathering.
Thinking of more like the illustrious Coop Fest a couple of years ago (thanks Judy and Leroy).
Mike you have had a few ideas for cooler times for this type of event.
My idea would be a Mini Fest with just mini’s. All the cooking done on minis. This would be easy to transport and set up. Could make a very nice Sat or Sun in the central part of the state. Thoughts….

I put my thinking cap back on and came up with an idea that Mickey originally proposed a few years ago when we were looking for a centrally located place to have an Eggfest.
I took some photos to show why it just might work:

It's in Salado, Texas, north of Austin and south of Waco. Very centrally located. Also the hometown of Mickey.

Leroy I was not promoting Salado but it is a meeting place for (half way on I-35) many Dallas and Houston families. Has lots of motel space and only 45 min’s to Austin or Waco city limits.Salado is big into bed & breakfasts and antiquing.
From talking with you “aged” eggheads – the first Texas EggFest was just down the road about 15 miles in Temple.
If interest I would be glad to look into it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Outlaw Gathering - it's great fun.....I think Mickey's idea is good because we can have double the fun. Heck, throw in a party at the Chicken Ranch and we can party three times a year :-)Judy

Not one thing, Steve you put on a very high class party and I will not miss it. Last year was a blast.

I like it. Due to a scheduled event for Marina, I will be at mi casa cooking for a group of young ladies on the Plano weekend.

Although there can be some nice days in Jan. and Feb., there can be also be snow and sleet. I know because these are the months that my Fredericksburg conference is held, and it nearly always turns bad at that time. Once you get into March things look better in your part of the world. Good idea.

I LOVE this idea! We'll show up in Plano, Saledo AND at the Chicken Coop. Just tell us when and where. Since there are so many of us in this big 'ol state, we could have north (Plano), central (Saledo or Chicken Coop) and south (on the beach) events. Then we could see each other at least 3 times a year!
But we don't have a mini (yet) would you accept a medium? -
