I would have thought he would have mentioned here that a new video was just launched on his site? Maybe he wonders if anyone is paying attention?

Hey, Whiz Baby, I'M paying attention!

  • Dude, that was the mystery of it. The 15-day countdown. The mysterious clues. The reviews. The trailer. I couldn't mention it here, LOL! It's part of the mystery!

    IT'S HERE!!!!

You may need to hit Refresh or maybe Shift/Refresh to load the new intro. ( I did because I was 'studying' on the site just this afternoon and my browser was holding the 'old' page.)

I liked it. Great Job. It looks like you need to raise that corner of your roof by about 3 feet though.

Thanks are in order for TNW. The movie is grand. First class production.

The animated Whiz, is it just me or does he sound related to Joshua from War Games?

    Kind regards,

  • Great job TNW!!! It was indeed life altering.
  • I'd say I only hit my head about once a year.....

Awesome use of the toothpick Whiz. And the Spinal Tap reference was great as well.

    Awesome video.

I plan on putting it on my FB page as a way to get my friends not to touch my eggs!

I had plans to cook this winter on my screened in porch that has a low roof. Should I reconsider? Is it safe? I have never seen a flash like that before.

I might have to call a little BS on your video. Are you sure you didn't add just a little bit of an accelerant(sp) to the mix and take a little creative licensing?

It would be nice if you could have showed them 3 little pumps of the dome and no HD of course with a soundtrack and a cheeky animated bugger introducing it.

That's awesome, but how did you keep from burning up the string that you used to open the lid on the

Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

  • I'm calling BS!

It is NOT HD! YouTube only gives me the options of 360p and 480P. :) I want a fireball in 1080 lines of beautiful progressive resolution!

I kept waiting for the string to go up in smoke as well.

Naked Whiz - I LOVE IT!!! AWESOME!!!! Makes me appreciate the little bit of arm hairs I have left much more!!  Seriosuly, nice work on the vid. B)

KB...Remember, he set up all the right scenarios for a huge flashback. Yes, they certainly do happen though, but usually not to those extremes. Have you lost a few arm hairs yet in a flash? If no, give it another couple weeks. ;) (THen again, view on super slow motion, and they may look just that bad! )
I would be more concerned with how low the roof is, and how long and how high the burns. Hopefully some others will chime in here, because closest I have come to a low roof is about 9 foot. I have always respected the power of the egg, and suspect that responsible operating makes it one of the safest grills going. ;)

Whiz how many homes will be burnt to the ground trying to do what you did
Not many times can the remake outdo the org ;)
Salado TX Egg Family: 2 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max (I'm good for now).

  • Nope, no accellerant. That was absolutely pure charcoal powered flashbacks. The flashbacks came from 2 filming sessions, but pretty much, I just cranked them out one after another.
    The Naked Whiz
  • Like LC says, I obviously did things in a way to encourage the largest flash possible. No accelerant was used, but of course, I had the Egg very hot and I waited 90 seconds to let things "cook" and then I opened the lid all the way pretty rapidly. Flashbacks created by humans lifting the lid tend to be smaller. As for the flames reaching the ceiling, the flash is very fast and won't ignite wood. I had a cotton cord for the lifting mechanism and it survived being directly in 5 or 6 flashes before it weakened enough to break. It did catch fire on one flashback, but there is a whale of a difference between igniting coarse cotton and a piece of wood. So, I wouldn't worry about the flashbacks starting fires.
    The Naked Whiz
  • You have to remember these flashes are very very quick. Look at how fast the flashback occurred at normal motion. It does take its toll though. The cord broke after about 5 or 6 flashbacks, and it did ignite on one really good one (he says with a maniacal laugh).
