BBQ Guru vs Stoker vs. others

I have been away for several years and wondering what temp/cook control equipment is the best.
1. I have a large and a small egg
2. I would like to cook in both at the same time
3. I don't necessarily need to have it work with my wireless network but it would be nice not to have a bunch of cables
Can anyone give me some updated opinions?

If those are your criteria, I'd go with a Stoker. It can handle up to four (4) pits at once, as I recall, and it's web-enabled so you can integarte it into your wireless network.

He was asking a serious question
-
You say it doesn't have to work on your wireless network, so does that mean it doesn't have to be connected to any network? No matter which you choose, if you want it on the network in some fashion you are going to have to have a cat 5 cable either to your PC or to a bridge or wap or something.
If you don't want to connect it to a network at all, then either the Stoker or the Cyber Q will do the job.The Naked Whiz -
When it comes to your banter with Fidel and/or Stike they are like two big cats and you're just a ball of yarn.

I think of myself more as a cute little bunny.

I have no idea what Tweev_tip ever did to you but it must have really stung. Every time he tries to post anything you jump all over his case spewing stupidity everywhere you turn. You fail as a forum troll. All you are doing is making yourself look like a retard. (the whole "R" word thing this forum has going on is total BS)

Wow! Maybe I should stay away for a couple more years. Thanks for those that offered some good opinions. As far as the daisy wheel comment went it made me chuckle a little myself. If I can't laugh at myself for being obsessed with grilling (my family does) then I guess I have a problem.
-
yhbtyhlhand. Yes, Tweeve. We have been trolled. We have lost, and we will NOT have a nice day until you leave us. RETARD and FAIL are two of your favorite words, and show us that you are the dredges of society, and have repeatedly shown that you have no empathy for people who have special needs relatives.
May your son be in good physical and mental health. -

Hi Kilo!
To control multiple eggs - I believe the Stoker is awesome. For wireless, you need to buy a wireless bridge... To me I really like the Stoker for overnight cooks. Before I got it, I didn't sleep so perfectly during those cooks..
Here is a picture of my two eggs with the Stoker controlling both of them. Cooked 4 8.5lb butts in each.
Best of luck!! -
That's not what I was told by a certain lovely blond the past couple of Octobers.

See you in September. Wasn't there a song about that?

I also own a Stoker and it was the best decision I made after getting my XLEgg
I have owned the Stoker for two years without any problems and I really love the fact that I control the Pitt temp and monitor my food temps foam any of my computers, iPad or phone.
I do many long cooks including whole pork shoulders but also use the Stoker for my shorter cooks to control the pit temp, chicken, ribs etc -
Jerry, very nice set up for your two Eggs and the Stoker
-
Hi John,
Thanks! - its a lot of fun... I just love this stuff. -
I think you mean "dregs." Normally I don't like playing the language police, but dwelling on the most footling flaw in Tweev's posts seems to be the order of the day, so I figure sauce for the gander, if you get my drift. Particularly for a "wordsmith."
Yes, Tweev rubbed some people the wrong way initially, including me. But in case you haven't noticed, he's making a very good effort at trying to fit in here, and I think it would benefit the forum greatly if all the people who are now trolling him mercilessly would grow up. This includes you. -
That makes my geek heart go pitter-pat :woohoo:
-
Effort? LOL

Funny,
As they say there are only 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

Beautiful!!

Did you ever stop to think for even one minute that there are many here who just plain don't like you...or you wore out your welcome and your newfound attempts at being accepted are falling on deaf ears..no respectable member is going to back someone handing out inaccurate advice...we are here to help the new egg owners..your agenda is still very much questionable..
-
Like I said...your newfound attempts at being accepted..you ever think all those hits are from people wanting to see what rediculously improper reply you made this time...get over yourself.
-
I don't know if it's your witty comebacks that people tune in for. For my entertainment dollar you can't be beat. I did in fact enjoy it more when you posted as anon because I could just look for your post at a quick glance. But as a cook, you present yourself as an experienced egger with all kinds of knowledge for the newbies. That's the misrepresentation that people object to. On the OT forum you made the statement that emails also cc'd to WMK. He said you lied. He could have said you were wrong but we all know you're never wrong.
-
"You do realize they(the moderators) get emails sent through the system, right?". LOL.
-
By the way, that was your quote followed by, "Once they read what I sent you, I think they will agree with my point in the email." That doesn't jive at all with "I never said WMK was cc'd on emails. I am saying that there is likely a "sent mail' folder they have access to." Like I said, for my entertainment dollar.......
-
LOL. No anxiety here. Pure entertainment.

Glad to see you know a duck when you see a duck..occaisionally ya get the blind duck however..LMAO..
