Car Wash Mike's Friends Speak Out

By my count there have been 18,563 hits on the various threads regarding Car Wash Mike’s death and it keeps growing in number. I’ve read them all and it appears that at least half are from Eggheads who rarely if ever post on the Forum and most had never met him in person. Yet they came forward to say a few words about a man who affected their lives by his contributions to the Forum. Whether it be a “welcome to the Forum” to a Newbie, or explaining for the millionth time how to cook ribs, he always did so with the same enthusiasm as he did with all of his thousands of posts. He wanted everyone to enjoy Egg’n as much as he did.
But the numbers also reflect what kind of people make up our group of Eggheads. The replies, comments and condolences were very genuine and heavily laced with emotion. We all feel the loss and will continue to do so for a very long time. No wonder he was so pleased to be an Egghead.
Even in death he brought out the best in each of us. We will miss him.

Very well stated Leroy. Old, new & in between we will all miss him. I will never forget AlaskanC being envious when I got one of his ribs at my first Eggtoberfest & she had not. I had no idea I was getting something considered that special but I soon learned.

Thanks for stating this, Leroy.
This will certainly create a void of great rib help on this Forum. His selfless contributions will be sorely missed!
RIP, CWM ! -

Leroy very well said.
Thank youSalado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers. -
For those of us who were new to Egging, CWM was a great source of helpful and kindly rendered advice. Peace.

This is really quite amazing. I didn't know Mike. In fact, I'm not even sure we ever posted in the same thread. (I don't do ribs much. ) But the outpouring of heartfelt sentiment I have seen here is truly remarkable! It certainly makes me wish I HAD known him. It takes a helluva guy to garner this much respect!
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Don't forget those of us who are so very sad about this news but have difficulty finding the right words to express how we feel...
Count 1 for me on that list.
