First, I would like to congratulate you all. Not only is this forum ultra informative, but it is the most friendly and polite of those I have seen. It is also occupying way to much of my time.
I had an Egg in the '80s. It was good, but the rains came, followed by rust. The eggsperts at bbq galore were at their usual helpfulness. A procession of gassers, Webers, and an Oklahoma Joe (smoker) followed.
I am returning to the fold. A Small BGE arrives tomorrow. :cheer:
Now if I could only find a source of lump closer than 50 miles.

Sorry to hear that. :pinch: Usually Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Publix, Winn Dixie, and Sam's carries lump.George Foreman? Who?Tim C. Panama City, Fl.Large, Minimax-soon

AND/OR tey Menards or GFS . . . There Has to be lump somewhere in you're area?? Where exactly are you?
-
Big Bear, CA. 2 Ace harwares in town and KMart - only Kingsford briquets. HD, Walmart , Costco, Sams, etc 55 miles in one direction (Redlands), HD Lowes, Costco etc 50 miles in the other (Apple Valley, home of the stuffed horse Trigger).
But the weather is great (3 seasons) the air is clean, water doen't come from the Colorado, and the fishing is lousy. -
Last year K-Mart carried a type of Kingsford lump, not briquettes. I think it was called Steakhouse. Our Ace sometimes carries Cowboy Lump. You might check with the managers to see if they can order some for you. Coming to the fest in Upland in September?

Ace's website says that they sell Frontier lump online with free ship to store: http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3393980&kw=charcoal&origkw=charcoal&searchId=49372875753 Looks like they've got Cowboy too. Will that work?

Perfect. Free shipping to local Ace does it. Thank you.
-
You're welcome. Let us know what you think of the Frontier if you try it. The Naked Whiz seems to like it pretty well ("recommended" and just missing "highly recommended")

Thinking about it.

Just ordered 100# of Frontier. With the 60# of BGE and BBQ Galore on hand, I should be good for a while.
-
Been buying 40# bags of Frontier at Sam's for 14.27/bag - I like it. Wear your safety glasses and leave the sandals, flip flops, and crocs in the house if lighting with a weed burner - pops pretty good.

MAPP torch is ready

Thanks to all

welcome back!

Make one trip and LOAD up.

Ace was the solution. With free shipping, it's way cheaper than driving 110 miles. And if I go to Costco, I never get out for less than $250
-
Thank you. Have used it twice now. Bye bye Weber.
