Hey everybody, My wife is going to pick up my demo BGE tomorrow, sadly I have to work and I can't get out of it. So I get the ash tool, grill gripper, and a plate setter. I was just wondering what else she should pick up at the Eggfest tax-free? I am super excited about getting my egg

A pizza stone would be nice.
-
Some steaks or chicken would be good

a meat thermometer.
-
Rib rack and dizzy pig rubs if they have them. I would get a third hand instead of the grill grabber.
-
A pizza stone and a rasied grid of some sort would be my recommendation...with the raised grid being 1st pizza stone 2nd..you're gonna burn through lump a "lot" faster than the claims from BGE...

Very good suggestion.

There are a lot of accessories one could buy. Some are very useful and others will just sit and not be used.
I would suggest you get your egg and use it, read the forum and it won't take long for you to decide what useful things you want and will use.
WessB's suggestion includes some of my accessories you will use often.
Here are a few accessories I always or quite often use - and I would buy again should I loose or break the item.
In no particular order:
Adjustable Rig & Spider
ThirdHand Grid Lift
Maverick ET-73
Thermapen by Thermoworks
Wiggle Rod - Thirdeye makes these also and I believe Lawn Ranger is making them again now or even make your own.
Looking forward to reading and seeing some of your cooks.
Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

visit this site often, I have learned so much in the few weeks I've had my EGG.....welcome

just make sure there is not a firewood moving ban in affect where you are (NY and i believe PA, maybe other states) if you plan to pick up some smoking wood.
-
Get as much as you can because no matter what you think you will buy it all eventually!

Electric Starter, more lump, and Wood Chunks (or Chips). For the Lump I'd say to look for the Royal Oak at Walmart (same stuff as BGE). Check out the nakedwhiz site... he has a ton of reviews on different lump.
