doing 4 butts

when doing 4 butts with 2 up and 2 down, will the top 2 get down faster?? and i only have one meat probe which one to stick it on, top - bottom, smallest, or biggest!! :unsure: first 4 butt cook, have done many 2 butt cooks, so first tome for a 2nd tier butt cook?

i pull them all off at the same time and wrap in foil?? What is the purpose of wrapping in foil??

Pull them off as they start reaching 195. Don't pull them all at once.

The idea behind the foil is to protect them at they sit in a cooler for the others to finish. Trust me you do not want to pull or chop the butts when you fist take them out of the Egg, unless you have hands of steel.

thanks, celtic wolf! am i right in thinking that the egdes will get burnt from being over the top of the edges on the plate setter or not?

Hey BigA, don't sweat it as I did my first 4 butt cook this weekend.

As you can see there are only 3 on the egg when this pic was taken. I had one on top but it finished earlier than the 3 on bottom. The butt on top was the biggest and it finished a good hour before the bottom three was ready to be taken off the cooker. I got very good reviews on the pulled pork sandwiches. I was very nervous about cooking 4 butts at once but the egg did its thing as usual. You will be fine just go for it.
