I have had my large Egg for about 2 weeks now, and I am loving it ! I have found this forum extremely useful, so I thought I'd share last nights cook: sirloin steak.
I fired up the Egg, got a nice fire going, temperature reading of about 550 and tossed my steak on there. Seared that side for about 90 seconds to 2 minutes, then flipped it over and did the same on the other side. Next I closed everything down and let the heat in there finish it off for about 5 minutes longer.
I just rubbed the steak with olive oil and seasoned with sea salt and freshly grind pepper. Steak came off at about medium-rare, and was amazing!
Hope these pictures post and convey how good it was.
Also, next time I will make sure I take a shot after I cut it.

That looks great. Had my first steak on the egg last night. They are great. Mine didn't look as good as yours

Looks great and welcome. I'm all for the searing and then like you did shutting down and roasting.
Great Job,

Nice color for med rare. Hate the grey looking meat from not searing.
