ME - Did Bayou Egger mention if he competed in the Smokin' Blues & BBQ competition last weekend in Hammond, LA?

We were in the same division the last couple of years before I moved. His team always placed in that competition.

    LA Dog,

In the pic I posted you can see several paddles/backyard awards they have won. I think he placed 4th in People's Choice in Hammond and 1st in site design!
  • Looks like fun!
    Thanks for sharing.

Nice job on the turn ins. Wish I would have known that was going on. I'm only about 30 miles from Slidell and would have come by to check it out.
  • Good job Clark, thanks for posting the pictures

We have not signed up for any more yet. Wanted to see how this went. We have considered doing some backyard comps - they seem more like fun and less stressful. I have an email in for an app for a KCBS in late May. We'll see.

We might do best to find a comp class to polish up several things....

We had a lot of fun. As Kent said, people would walk by and comment on the Eggs . We had several come up, look at them and ask lots of questions. They would want to open them and we would have to explain we couldn't do that while they were cooking low and slow.

Got a big barrier to that - Jana (aka "The Princess") is totally non-supportive of the comps. :(

I think I can "slip' one in here and there, but 15-20 comps a year and I will be single again!

Clark, glad you didn't wind up DAL, lol. I love that descriptor. All jesting aside, it looks like you put in a lot of work and yielded a good BBQ and had fun. :)
