I just received it today. Looking at some of the cooks I see some people put aluminum foil around the wires that are inside the egg. Should I do that? Do I have to use the probe for the dome temp or is that just for the long cooks?

Just put my meatloaf on and I'm finally taking pics

I don't wrap the leads in foil.
-
I also do not use anything on the leads.

Can I ask....honestly...why did you buy that thermometer?

I'm not Mark, but I bought mine from the positive respossess on this forum. I have had some "glitches" with mine but I think that I can adjust to make it work. Its a great idea but it needs some refinment.
