How do y'all clean Miss Daisy? I'm thinking about trying to burn the crud off wirh a plumbing torch. Bill

Never had a problem with that as I learned here on the forum to place DW inside egg after a cook and when shutting down.
As long as it still turns, I'd try that approach.

Thanks, I'll try that. It's getting hard to turn, so I need to clean it now. I'll scrape what I can off and start doing as you suggested.

She's the greatest...seriously..leave it alone or put it in the egg when it's coolin down from a high temp cook...either way..you'll be able to adjust it just fine once it heats up..

I believe I'll start putting it on the grid as the egg is coming up to temp when I first light it. I've noticed that it's easy to move when it gets hot.

Seriously...just leave it alone and it will work fine...might have to leave it on top the egg for 15 minutes or so before you can move it...once it is seriously gunked..but it will work fine like that and you will never have it rust..
