If you search the back posts for 'pampered chef' you will see a lot of broken PC stones or if you do by several as you will be needing them.
When you replace it get a BGE stone, a ceramic kiln shelf or a very thick pizza stone.
Hope you got through cook and ate well.

Good attitude about the stone John.
I envy you living at 7000', sometimes. LOL. I was out west a few years ago and loved the altitude. When I was younger it didn't agree with me. Before quiting smoking last year lighting up a non-filtered Camel at that altitude was a RUSH!  :woohoo:

I used one for a year and mine shattered one night as well. Mine was my fault though. I had it on the egg coming up to temp with the egg shooting for about 450 to cook some burritos. It went to 650 or so for a bit while I was prepping the food. I brought it back down to 450 but I guess the stone was still too hot. When I threw that burrito on it with a buttered outside it split it as soon as it hit. I just scooted it back togeather and kept eggin. Now my father-in-law bought me a BGE one thats thick enough to handle it.

They always do......

I still use my PC stone. In this picture I had the CI grate in the egg and the busted PC stone. I was baking potato's over the PC stone and then I seared my steaks. Tim

I'm going to turn mine into a platesetter for the mini.

Hey Adam! Mine broke once but I have used that half for a lot of high heat cooks 500° plus and it never broke again. I have even took it out after the spuds got done and not even another fracture. I've got another one just like it! Tim

Morning,
I'm thinking I can get it double thick with a bunch of JB weld in the middle and a few little legs. It's on the list, next to cutting boards and pizza peels.
I told my buddy not to cook too hot on his first pizza cook. Well he not only burned the piss outa the pie, he split his thin stone into many pieces. Some people learn in different ways I guess. :P -
Your right it's a learning and it's more for some than others. Tim
Adam, Would you stay close to this post I want to take a few pics and show you what was given to me the other day and ask you how to cut this material I have. -
Adam, Here is my post. Tim

I have seen in other posts long ago that the Pampered
chef stone is on the do not buy list. -
This all makes me feel much better. We got a PC pizza stone as a wedding gift. The first time I tried using it on the egg it broke into 3 pieces. I've still got the pieces and thanks to this thread have some great ideas of what to do with 'em. Thanks to you all.

Yeah, I used my wife's PC stone as a heat barrier on the AR spider once. Oops. So much for that one.

I had that Pizza stone long before the egg, I knew it was just a matter of time. I managed to get about 10 pizza out of it before it shattered. Like mentioned above I just scooted it back together and finished up my last two pies.......
On to the BGE stone....
What came first the pizza stone or the Egg?
