To addicted to my LBGE?

I need for you guys to settle a dispute my little woman and I are having about the LBGE.

On Wednesday night I stood outside in the sleet and cooked on my LBGE. I did hamburgers because the chicken was thawed enough to put on. She said I was way to addicted to my LBGE. However, she ate her two hamburgers like she hadn't eaten in a month! I told her it is normal behavior of eggers to cook in the rain, sleet, snow and gloom of night. Who is right? :cheer:

  • Are you married? if so she is. If you plan on getting married, she is. If you plan on staying married, she is.
  • ROFLMAO!!! I forgot that rule. Yes, she is right of course. I always get the last two words in any argument we have, "yes dear." Thanks for the reminder!

So I am insane and absolutely addicted to my egg, I think I will go home and cook bacon and eggs on it this morning.

I am actually going to build a roof over my egg this weekend. Told her I was getting an early birthday present, a compressor and nailguns. Then I don't have to stand in the rain or sleet anymore.

I have a totally biased view point, your wife is right. LOL. Living in Fort Myers we have one of the better year round grilling climates. Southern California may be better and parts of the Southwest may equal it. I could no more imagine grilling on the egg (or any other grill) in the cold, sleet and snow then I could imagine going back to living under those conditions.

If the wife is concerned by your addiction, and it sounds as if she is not, why not ask her if she would care to relocate to a gentler climate where grilling on the egg year round will not look so strange? You can explain that is for your health as egging under those conditions can't be good for man or beast!

    Have a Happy New Year,

    Gator

Wife is alway right! Now about your addiction, it will only get worse! Was cooking about 4 nights a week on the egg now it's almost everyday plus lunch if I am home and if work it's egg leftovers(thinking about another egg for work).
  • I recommend asking her if she would prefer that you come home smelling like beer, cigarettes, cheap perfume and with lipstick on your collar, sort of like Tiger Woods. This always works for me.

Well if you are addicted, you are in the right place.
Personally I choose not to Egg in the rain/sleet, but thats just me.
Burgers are awesome on the egg arent they? Even the basics taste better.

I have a large umbrella that I can set up for the rain - but a roof is in the planning stages. JUST PLAIN NUTS!

No worries, I egged in the sleet and snow this last week in Tulsa. My wife said I am insane, my neighbor said I am dedicated. To be quite honest, it is insane, but that's what makes it fun!
  • Yep - I've heard the same thing...yet, never a bite left on her plate. The best advice...

When she's wrong - she's right. When she's right...she's right...and when she gives you the look...run like hell!
