I posted a couple of weeks ago that I had won the eBay bid for a large BGE. There were several things about the auction listing and subsequent emails that made me highly suspicious that the listing was legit, BUT today I got my BGE!!! I've checked it out and all is well. I have mostly been lurking on this forum since I did not own an Egg. Now I am the proud neophyte possessor of my very own BGE. I look forward to share in the enthusiasm of the owners' group.

  • Memphis10c,
I got mine in October and cook on it on average of 5 nights a week...rain sleet snow and cold have not detered me from my wonderful Egg. You are now a member of a great club I mean cult. Congrats and enjoy!!

    Memphis10c,
I have been wondering how that auction turned out. I am glad everything worked out great for you. Welcome to the club! The first rule is: throw away the manual (if you got one....but send in the registration card first) and ask any questions here on the forum. [p]~nikki

  • nikkig,
I have already read the manual and haven't seen anything that has not been addressed on this forum. I'm looking forward to learning so much!

  • Brian,
$440 including shipping. also included metal vent cap (whatever that's called) and thermometer--both accessories from what I've read.

  • bigarms,
Thanks for the welcome. So you're from Memphis? Perhaps we can hook up some time.

  • Stewbaby,
More than anything else, the factor that lead to my purchase was the enthusiasm of this group...I mean cult.

    Memphis10c,
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the green room. Basically no questions is off limits. The good folks will respond, and are glad to help. Cult? I believe the wall street journal called us that; but our cult is that we share a common passion; the BGE and cooking; but more importantlt; we are like a family.
    Once again, Welcome!

  • I give you about a week and you will become egg-dicted...
and may the smoke always blow south.......

  • highlander,
Right new the BGE is set up in my living room. We are going to move in about 3 weeks. I'm saving it for the new home. So the egg-diction will be postponed.
