would like to thank my secret santa for the bottle of laphroig, the stogie, and the matched pair of aged rib eyes (shipped fresh, no less).
i thought the limit was 20 bucks. i hope you are happy with the potholders i sent. they were nearly brand new, too.
thank you again. enjoying the cigar and scotch after a fine dinner of steak.
i hope you pick my name next year too

Aaaaawwwwwwww
Even your wife wouldn't be that nice to you! -
A true love would have sent you Balvenie. Laphroaig is like sucking on a burnt sponge that sopped up salty bog water.
-
I like salty bog water ,,, but then I drink bud :P
-
Laphroaig - West coast Single Malt - Too "Peaty" like many from the west coast - like sucking on Cowboy Lump
Balvenie, Knockando - Smooth
McCallums - 18 year - real smooth, 25 year is like gold -
 :pinch:
-
Having traced my roots back to that area of Scotland, I thought maybe I should try Laphroaig. You're right, tastes like lump made from peat. Couldn't have been MY ancestors who invented it.

laphroig is very phenolic. like the taste of a billiard ball, like from a ball gag.
i mean, from what i hear, anyway. -
a real man finds merit in all scotches. except the cheap crap i bought last night! 10 yr glenmorangie.
was like cheap vodka with an orange crayon dipped in it.
hahaha
i like the peaty, smokey stuff. hell, i like mosst of them. like women. sure, there are some more attractive than others, but at the end of the day, a woman is beautiful in her own right. -
I never said it wasn't a good scotch...but it is certainly not for the scotch novice or the faint of heart.
-
once i tasted the macallan 18 year old single malt, the search ended, that stuff is too good. i dont want to try the 25 year old stuff, sometimes its not good to know what your missing :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

fishlessman,
You got that right. I learned some lessons with good Port a few years ago. Can't spend less than 100 on a jug now.

i hand you a line like "tastes like a ball gag" and that is your response?
tsk tsk tsk.
first, CW tees one up for you in asking for a name for his 'Q, and you respond with (GASP!) actual frikkin solid business advice. then this.
please don't tell me you have stopped drinking at work now too. -
yep, ports are one of those that i capped off at about 60 bucks and didnt dare go higher. i try to stay out of that section as much as possible unless im making a quick matues run. im no wino and i dont consider port to be a winefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
