Tri-Tip with Kona Coast Rainbow Rub

Rubbed and ready to go
Seared 600* for 3-min. a side then dropped the temp. down to 350* put on a raised grid at 350*, 15-min a side for internal temp. of 120*
Tri-Tip sliced up nicely
Served with salad and smashed potatoes. The Kona Rub works wonderful with Beef

Looks great. I'm going to ask a dumb question....Is the tri-tip a type of cut. What do I look for at the store....I've got to try this.
Did you pull it off when you pulled back to 350, or just keep it on? -

Yes it's a cut, there are two per steer usully weigh 2 1/2 -3-lbs ask you butcher. I do pull the Tri-Tip off the grill after the 3-min. sear per side when I get the temp. down to 350* then I put on a reised grid to get it away from the lump untill a internal temp. of 122*
