7 years medium, 1 year XL.
Although I really didn't get serious until about 2006. I was in an apt until then and it was considered a fire hazard on the balcony. That didn't stop me, but did slow me down some. -
Steve,
Maybe there should be a special get together of the "Old Guys and Gals)" at the fests! Sort of a tribute thing.
My dealer offered to give me the new spring hinge - nice guy. I'll stick with the oldie for now. -
I might as well chime in too. I have thoroughly enjoyed my egg for close to five years.

You got that right! -
I think the egg was just coming out all over the country when I bought mine. I saw it at the Home Show at the Tampa Convention Center. People were standing around talking about it, but they didn't have it lit because it was inside the convention center. I went to the Egg store the next day and bought one, never having tasted any food cooked on it. They even gave me the home show 10% discount -
I still have the receipt:
And also have the brochure from that time - the nest was low to the ground - Note that it is called the All New Ceramic Big Green Egg:

I cooked day one. Can't remember what.

I agree. I gained weight and made a lot of friends. I expected the cooking would be fun, but didn't think eggfests and friends came with the egg.
-
Did you bring one back from overseas?
-
I think the winner gets your cornbread recipe
