The Factory store's carry 2nds, which have slight flaws but function perfectly.
One thing to consider is that Dutch OVen lids also fit the skillets of same diameter. If you have a 4 or 5qt DO, the standsard 10-1/4" skillet will accept the lid, and it does come in handy. The 7qt DO lid fits the 12" skillect. I recently bought the little 2qt DO on sale at a factory store for $19, which has a lid that fits the 8" skillet. Both of these are seeing alot of action in my kitchen and on EGG. -
thanks for your help

Someone on the forum recommended this Lodge 5 Qt. Double Dutch casserole with a lid. It's 10 1/4 inches in diameter and the lid doubles as a skillet, with no long handle. It looked like a great idea to me. I have an ancient 10 or 11" CI skillet that belonged to my grandmother (and I am now a retiree, to give you a sense of the age of this thing) but the handle isn't too long to fit on my egg. Still, the Lodge combo looked excellent.

Double dutch oven come in real handy. I am going to make the move to enamel CI in the future. This is the greatest signature EVAR!

Enamel always ends up chipping for me. I prefer plain CI. You might be gentler with your pots and pans than I am, though!

Get 1 of everything. Looks like the (thirdgradeteacher) troll who just complained about JL on another thread is back. Love the spelling, there, their, or they're ??
Anybody ever heard of a "scumbab?" -
speaking of spelling...

We had a great time looking around. I could of bought the whole store. though I didn't buy anything today. I really wanted the 14" wok. couldn't convince the wife that I needed it. :(
As for the "scumbag" comment, that really threw me off. That was the first nasty comment I've seen on the forum, and I couldn't figure out what I did wrong. Slotmercenary thanks for clearing that up. -
I am going to make a road trip soon to come to Chattanooga and swing on over to the Lodge Outlet.

Lunch at Cracker Barrell (LC's favorite place) will be in order. Give us a head's up please!

Will do, I just gotta get caught up around here first. Hopefully before Christmas.

Caught up, you have plenty of times on your hands now!
