ash tool size

Will the larger Green Egg ash tool work in the Small BGE? How much bigger is it compared to the smaller one?

No not really. The small and mini are the same.
  • Right, that is what I am asking, how much bigger is the ash tool for the XL and Large BGE compared to the smaller ash tool?

Will the large ash tool fit into the small BGE?

I think the large ash tool is about 3/4" bigger. Can't use the large in the small or mini.

Hmmm, my large ash tool will work on my small Egg. It's a hassle to fit through the door, but it works. I'm sure they sell a small tool, but I just made one from some flat stock.

here's an ash tool I made for my small and mini just using some steel strap and a piece of brass then pop-riveted together. Easy to make and works well.

I tried to buy the small ash tool when I got my small and ended up with another large one. Like Thirdeye says, you can use the large one.....but it's not ideal by any means. Much more work to clean it out with one that is too big. I have been thinking about cutting the extra one off so it works better. My dealer is 150 miles one way.
