I thought this needed its own post. Everytime my grandma is around, she wants to cook me her cheeseburgers. Not being one to break an 84 year olds heart, I usually let her. This time we were at my house and I have a glass top stove. She can only cook cheeseburgers on a gas flame with a cast iron skillet. I told her I had just the ticket.
Almost brought tears to my eyes. I think she liked it.

This is one of the nicest posts I've ever seen. A happy one, too!

God bless your grandmother Eric.
I lost my grandmother in 99, lost my mom who didnt want me last year.
Cherish the times when grandma can visit and.....demand/want a cheeseburger. A wise old owl who has an appetite like me.

good stuff. As a rule of thumb, I always try to keep 84 year olds happy

What a great post. You and grandma are lucky to have each other.

Good job Eric! Living down here in Florida for 26 years I have know many wonderful people your grandmothers age and older. One thing that rings true in them all is that they love to feel helpful or useful. It's just that simple. They have seen enough of sitting around like a bump on a log and they miss the days when they were able to do more to help out and feel like a more active member of the family. I wish I had a Gram to cook me cheeseburgers, I bet she makes a good one. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing. -
Very nice post. So that was three generations there ? on your counter top is that soap stone??

It was a very nice weekend. All I hear when I talk to my family is how much fun they had. In the last pic, it is actually 4 generations. That is my dad, my grandma, me, and my wife holding our nephew. The countertop is concrete. Seems to be holding up rather well. Thanks for all the nice compliments.

What great fun for all of you! Relish it!
And get that cheeseburger recipe... someday you'll be glad you did and you can say" This is the way my grandma made them"
I wish I had all my grandma's recipes.
Thanks for the great post!

Hat's off to you! CI burgers are the best tasting burgers you'll eat. I remember my grandmother on the farm in Kentucky grinding here own burger and frying them in a huge CI skillet. She put salt into the skillet prior to putting the burgers on. She would cook them and then put them on fresh bread she baked.
Those are awesome memories that you'll never forget. You just made my morning reminiscing. :cheer: -
Grandma's gonna want an egg of her own now --
