flour question

I am going to make ice cream bread. I do not have any self rising flour but have bread flour. Do I need to add anything to make it rise? If so what & how much? THANKS!!!!!

    I'm itching to make that bread recipe too, but was unable to find any blueberry ice cream but did buy the self rising flour and some small disposable loaf pans. Then it hit me...I went to a popular local ice cream speciality shop and it so happens the owner is making a batch of blue berry this Tuesday! BTW I have written fishlessman for advice on what quantity of liquid for what size pan - do you know? - guess he's out trying to not be fishless!

  • I just used 2 cups strawberry & cream ice cream 1 & a half bread flour, it has been on 35 minutes and flat as a pancake :laugh: Hope it taste good!
  • For each cup of all-purpose flour, add 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. This should help you out. AZ
