Just wondering what you people thought. I have a cast iron grid and the wire grid. Which gives a better taste for cooking steaks or burgers? I just cooked some ribeyes on the wire but usually use the cast iron. I think the cast iron taste better but my wife says she cant tell any difference , so is there a difference or is it in my head?

Your wife is correct. Better sear marks with the CI grate but unless you found a new way to season the CI it doesn't change the taste.

I can't tell the difference in taste, but the cast iron leaves better black stripes on meat. Veggies tend to stick.

Also the grid is tighter with the cast iron grate so there is less of a chance of things falling through. If you take notice the BGE grate is two sided. The pointed side is better for sear marks and the flat side is better for veggies.

If metal or cast iron added taste to any food, I would not be cooking on it.

I generally use the cast iron for beef or pork and the porcelain for chicken, fish or veggies.
