Ping: Mothership

There are often posts here that cry out for some straight/truthful information from the Mothership. Look at the "Sam's" post below; the many, many gasket posts; customer service evluations,(many good, some bad); posts telling users to "Cure" before cooking at higher temps, etc. I know the official position is that the Mothership doesn't participate in this forum, but some popular employees do and they should be allowed to provide factual information. I don't think they need to join the various "arguments" that take place, but some plain facts could be very useful. I think this is a missed customer service opportunity. Just my opinion.

Perhaps if people did searches instead of asking questions over again they'd see where both Bobby and John have answered all the inquiries before.

They are way too busy to keep answering the same question every few weeks. Plus the answers we give are based on those responses.

OK, I would love to do that, so what do I search for? I don't know who, "Bobby and John" are.

I do searches but often just get the latest posts or headers so vague I could spend hours deciphering them and reading messages that were only vaguely related. Such as my recent post re: Pizza stone for SMALL BGE. I found all kinds of responses re: pizza stones but I specifically wanted info for the SMALL - not pizza stone info in general. :ermm:

Perhaps people should do more searching on their own, but the fact is that they don't. This Forum is often, and correctly, touted as a strong resource for all Eggers, new and experienced alike. I am not knocking Bobby or John, they do a fine job, I'm just encouraging the Mothership to take better advantage of the Forum. No matter how well meaning we may be we cannot speak for Corporate unless we are Corporate. "Nuff said"
