I was just curious how many we had here? We may eventually get enough to have an eggfest here in the great state of Mississippi...
Thanks...

Where would be some possible locations? I am only about an hour from the Mis. line on the extreme southern end coming from the Sunshine State. I would definitely attend.

Hi ya'll,
Well, I am assuming that need more than a couple of us, probably a BGE sponsor, etc... Maybe we are just not quite ready for an Eggfest, YET...
We might need to convert more people to the BGE in the MS surrounding area...
Thanks...

I'm only an hour and a half away.
I haven't been to my dealer lately, but the next time I do' I'm going to talk to her and ask about an Eggfest here. Who knows maybe Eggbita Fest. Got a catchy ring to it. -
Hey Mike,
I like the sound of that...
Let me know if your dealer is willing...
My dealer is a small town dude, so he probably can't swing it, but we also have a couple of dealers here in Hattiesburg...
It would be great to get to know our local(ish) eggers...
The response to this post has not been overwhelming, so we may have to convert more people to the egg...
Thanks...

Too busy cooking and entertaining tonight to post.
I am in Madison.
I have had several conversations with the local dealer in Madison (Madison Fireplace and Patio). He has shown interest in hosting an Eggfest. He just needs a little push. I have volunteered to be one of his cookers if he has one.
Obviously needs to be spring or late fall - cause of the heat!
Most Eggfests, I believe, are hosted by dealers. They supply the eggs (and sell the used ones as demos) and the eggfest drives new customers their way.
I know 5 or 6 colleagues in the metro Jackson area who are egg owners, but do not participate in this forum.
There are several eggers on the coast and a really big dealer down there (Grate Grills and More is the name). Also a dealer in Morton.
I sent you an email Anna so we can correspond more on this.

We have a 1000 acre Hunting Camp just west of Batesville MS plenty of room.It could be a cool place.RV'ers could park on site and the general public could get rooms in Batesville!!! :woohoo:

Hoss,
I think most fests are hosted by dealers, who supply most of the eggs for the cooking. Might be hard to get a dealer into the great site you described.
It might be good to check with a few of the Eggfest regulars like Carwash Mike (Okla City fest) and the guy in Austin (forget his handle) who is familiar with the Texas Fest.

Handle is Austin Smoker.
Here is a link where he describes the Eggfest there:

If there is one in Ms. I'll be there. Let me know. I like the Idea of a farm setting. Parks like Sardis, Enid (Silver Springs) is a great idea too.

We got a Huntin Camp just west of Batesville that can accomodate a ton of people. It would be a BLAST!!!

Glad you liked it. Their seasonal Strawberry Lager is available now. I like having it with a few Lbs of boiled crawfish.

Happily egging here in Madison, MS.
I agree that the Madison Fireplace folks would be a good resource/potential sponsor. Heck, I've probably financed an Eggfest with all the stuff I've bought from them since I got my Egg 2 months ago -
I live in Pascagoula there 3 of us on my street.

Ray,
Glad to know where the other Mississippi Eggers are located. I think there is a pretty good concentration along the coast and they have a fantastic dealer in Gulfport - with a Egg-only deli inside. Hoping to actually go visit it sometime.
