I need a flaming idea on how to cool down the spicy chili i made on the egg last night? I incorrectly followed the receipt and now its so hot :woohoo: I cant eat it. Any help on how to counteract the spicy flavor would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I know beer will work but, i need something for a two year old, the Mrs. isn't aware she is already drinking.

Eggspert,
I assume it's in the fridge or cool. Reheat a bit and taste it now. You may find it's not as hot now. Unfortunately things lose their heat as the flavours blend. :(

i would add more hamburger, stewed tomatos, and some kidney beans. for the 2 year old, add some spagetti O's. chili is just right when its so hot that a half cup is plentyfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

You can't take 'hot' away but, you can cut some of the heat by adding a Hershey bar a little at a time. Or, I've recently been told that adding a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup.
The sweet will help a little. Heat is an acquired taste and it's addicting! -
Lots of good advice so far. I like Bente's sour cream idea. Any dairy product will help. The obvious answer is to add more of everything (except chili powder!). Meat, beans, dairy and tomatoes will spread the heat best. Water will just make watery chili that's too hot. I'd throw in Sundown's Hershey bar just to see what happened to the flavor.

I know, I am late to the party and I do love chili. So I asked Mr Google and here is is first answer.

well the chili turned out great thanks to ya'lls help. The sour cream and hershey bar did the trip. If anybody is in Atlanta in the next couple of days feel free to stop by for some chili and the beer is always cold. Thanks again.
Happy Eggin. -
I would add somemore of the ingredients that are not hot; little by little until you are happy w/ your chili.
