I want to thank those who responded to my post a couple weeks ago about an Egg that will be kept where I work.
I talked with the fire marshall again, and have my permit in hand. Well... sitting on the desk beside me.
AND, I ordered a MINI that is scheduled to arrive at 10:00 next Friday.
To do list:
1. Go buy a couple dry aged steaks to celebrate the anticipation of the new arrival.
. I don't want the lg. to feel like its being replaced, after-all.
2. Build a carrier / stand.
3. Start working on a cast iron grid.
4. Start working on a platesetter. Any suggestions? Granite? Fire Brick?
. Question: What is that in the bottom? Looks like a fire ring.

Yup, that's the fire ring.

Thanks.
Is this your contraption?
I saved the picture, but neglected to save the credits or description. If this is yours, what was your reason for storing the fire ring there?
Thanks, -
No, it wasn't my pic but I know SSN686 has a design almost like this one.

Morning Micheal:
Those are my legs in that picture.
The space where you see the fire ring (also holds the fire box, fire grate, feet and cooking grid) is to allow transporting without leaving the internals in the Egg. My thought was that if those items are left in the Egg while transporting, there is a greater possibility that they may move/bounce and break either them or the Egg itself.
If you want more details on what size pieces of wood were used to construct the carrier send me an email and I'll send them on to you.
Here is the LINK for the original post.Have a GREAT day!

Dimensions, etc. would be great, Thanks. I could start building this weekend.
My email address is ballou.family@comcast.net. -
Look at the "Link" in SSN686's message.

SSN686,
Sorry I didn't recognize the design as yours. I didn't see the drawer front on the posted pic and I knew your design had the drawer front.

Morning Tim:
That might be your opinion, but I think I will disagree with you (and no we will NOT have a "leg" throwdown at Ocala). The chili throwdown between Egret and Sundown is about all Ocala can handle!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :cheer:Have a GREAT day!

Where is the Adirondack chair and side table?
I had to work a bit for my permit. I work at Logan Airport in Boston. The Fire Marshall wasn't too keen on giving me a permit for a charcoal grill. -
 now that is a house to worship :woohoo:
