Has anyone seen detailed instructions on how to install the nomex gasket? Also, I am still undecided on the Nomex or Rutland, any comments would be helpful.

But don't tell anybody. I recommend one change that someone posted a while back. Spray the adhesive in a cup and apply it with a brush. -
Agreed. I took the time to mask b/c of overspray and that was time consuming. Application of Super 77 by brush sounds great to me. Also, I spent a good bit a time scrapping the old adhesive off. You might be able to use some sort of sander or dremel to speed up this process. The instructions state not to scrap of the ceramic so I stuck to the manual method of scrapping. Also, I think the nomex is for anyone who actually wants to use their egg. That felt is for the birds.

There was a 3M wire stripper that was getting recommended at one point. It fit on the end of a drill and was supposed to remove the gunk but not damage the Egg. Anybody remember the name of it?Food & Fire - The carnivorous ramblings of a gluten-free grill geek.

When I talked with HQ I was told - no power tools, that voids the warranty.
Use heat & scraper to remove the old gasket and adhesive. That combination works great and takes about 15 minutes for top and bottom of a large.
For me alcohol worked better than acetone. In the video you saw the helper dob/wipe on the acetone. He was working too big an area. The acetone/alcohol would evaporate too quickly. Rather work in about an 8 to 10 inch stretch at a time. Well soaked, scrape then wipe.
I hope Fred had some wrong information about the Nomex being an accessory. If the Nomex is the solution it should be included with the egg as standard equipment or at minimum given with the egg for optional user install.
